You can add on a Saturday self supported challenge ride for $25.  It will be approximately 90 miles with extra elevation and 11 covered bridges that are not on Sunday’s route.  This is for experienced long distance riders only.  We will mark the roads and provide the routes with recommended convenience store stops for refueling.  There will be an emergency number for mechanical failure.  This is only available as an add on to the normal registration.

2024 Covered Bridge Classic

August 18, 2024

New this year:  There are two pre-ride options offered on Saturday August 17th.

  • You will be able to join us for our famous Ice Cream Ride-Free to registered riders                            or
  • Sign up for an epic longer distance ride of Southern Lancaster County’s more challenging terrain crossing over 11 covered bridges that are not part of Sunday’s ride.  This is for experienced long distance riders only who can ride self supported.  We will provide the route with marked roads, recommendations for refueling stops, and an emergency contact number in case of mechanical failure.  This can be added to your registration for $25.

The Covered Bridge Classic is a premier Pennsylvania ride now in its 45th year.  It offers beautiful routes of 100 mile, 65 mile, 50 mile, and 35 mile routes, (actual mileage may vary), in Lancaster County.  Each route traverses through covered bridges and passes Amish farms.  All routes cover rolling terrain with moderate climbing.

The multiple start locations were highly preferred in our rider surveys and will be continued in 2024.  This minimizes congestion for improved safety.

  • There are up to 7 start locations to choose from depending on which distance ride you will be participating in.
  • You will be asked to pick a start location and ride distance in the registration process so we can provide you with the correct route information.  You can ride any distance that is served from your parking location.  Final route information will be sent out closer to ride time.
  • There is limited parking capacity at each start location.  You will be asked during registration, whether you will be riding, driving or carpooling to the start location.

Start locations are listed from West to East across the route.  See map below.
